Senior Producer, NBC4 Washington (WRC-TV)
Jason Gittlen is a Senior Producer of Special Projects at NBC4 in Washington.
In his current role, Gittlen produces news specials and highly-promotable stories involving the station’s anchors as well as breaking news and special coverage of Washington-area events including presidential Inaugurations, election night. Gittlen also has a leadership role in the internship program and other station-wide priorities.
Since joining NBC4 as a newsroom intern in 2004, Jason has worked in a number of roles including newscast producer, news writer and digital editor. For two years, he produced a live daily afternoon show and also oversaw programming for NBC Washington Nonstop, a diginet focused on the culture of Washington, DC.
Gittlen has received nine regional Emmy awards, several Associated Press awards and an Edward R. Murrow award.
Gittlen serves as a NATAS National Trustee. He currently sits on the Board of Governors of the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He is also the chapter’s co-chair of the awards committee.
Jason graduated from George Washington University 2005 with a B.A. in Electronic Media and minor in Journalism.
