Evelyn Escamilla is a NATAS Trustee from the Lone Star Chapter. She is also the Chair of the NATAS Impactful Technologies Committee.
As CEO of Verve Media, Evelyn is an award-winning and EMMY-nominated television producer and journalist with more than 19 years of broadcasting and production experience. Her portfolio includes broadcast television specials, promotional and corporate identity pieces, video news releases, media training and consulting, corporate events, political fundraisers and satellite broadcasts.
Prior to creating Verve Media, Evelyn served four years as Director for the Edinburg Cable Network (ECN12) and Director of Public Information for the City of Edinburg. Other work experience includes: Hidalgo County Bureau Chief/KRGV (ABC News) covering news on the Texas-Mexico border and Video journalist/Writer for CNN Newsource in Atlanta, GA.
Evelyn has been involved with NATAS for more than a decade. She currently serves as as NATAS Trustee and Co-Awards Chair for the Lone Star Chapter. Past roles include 1st Vice President, Treasurer and Regional VP.
Evelyn is a graduate of Southwest Texas State’s Broadcast Journalism/Mass Communications Program. Her work has earned recognition most recently two regional EMMY nominations. Previously, the Edinburg Cable Network garnered more than two dozen awards for Excellence in Government Television Programming from the Texas Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (TATOA) during the four years Evelyn served as its Director.
