Alison Gibson’s career in broadcast television and digital media started 35 years ago in The Netherlands, where she produced documentaries, dramas, children’s and live cultural programs for the Dutch broadcaster TROS. Her work has been recognized with a variety of awards, including an International Emmy® award.
On her return to America, Gibson continued to focus on documentary production and live national telecasts of cultural programs for PBS at KQED-TV in San Francisco. She founded MediaCool and Timeline Productions, two strategic communications companies that advised corporations on reorganization of their media departments to achieve a more efficient return on investment. She currently oversees a private family foundation in California.
Ms. Gibson’s serves as Treasurer for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and its Foundation, and is Finance Chair for the San Francisco/Northern California chapter of NATAS. As Education Chair (1999-2010), she developed new media initiatives that brought national recognition and funding for the chapter’s media literacy program. Her work for the chapter was honored with the Governor’s Distinguished Service Award.
